WHAT IS MAMU BEACH?
We offer year round training and travel beach season. You can pick which tournaments you want to attend. You do not need a partner to join! You can come with a partner or we can help you find one!
MAMU BEACH is a beach volleyball club with training and travel teams based in Miami, Florida.
MAMU BEACH offers high level training by coaches who have played for and/or been trained by the top coaches in the nation and continue to learn from them. We offer travel beach teams and offer recruiting help for beach volleyball if playing at the next level is your goal!
Our Story
Welcome to our Beach Volleyball Club! After coaching at Westminster Christian School in Miami, we recognized a gap in year-round high-level beach training for athletes. That's why we’ve established a club dedicated to providing elite coaching, rigorous, and ample competition opportunities. Meet Our Club Directors!
Sylvia Guso played four years of indoor volleyball at the University of Miami before completing her collegiate career with a fifth year of beach volleyball at Loyola Marymount University.
She then returned to Westminster Christian School as Head Coach of the Beach Volleyball Team, leading them to eight consecutive regional titles, a state championship, two state runner-up finishes, and annual state tournament appearances. Her teams have been ranked as high as #1 in Florida and nationally.
Fueled by her passion for the sport and dedication to developing athletes, Sylvia also founded MAMU Beach Volleyball Club—the first in Miami-Dade County—to help players train, compete, and pursue college volleyball opportunities.
Julie, a former NCAA Division I indoor volleyball player at FIU, began coaching in 2005 at Westminster Christian and with Miami Elite.
As Westminster's indoor program director, she's led the team to 3 state titles, 13 district championships, and 11 Final Four appearances in 14 seasons.
Recognized by MaxPreps as a "National Dynasty Program" (2011–2021), the team is consistently ranked top 10 in Florida and nationally. Julie also supports the beach program and has helped nearly 100 athletes continue their volleyball careers in college.
