The Mamu Experience
What the sand has done for the athletes who train here, written by them.
Beach volleyball is more than a sport to me. It has taught me to stay calm in the chaos of matches, to trust my coaches, my teammate, how to lead better, and to fight hard every point. Beach volleyball made me a better indoor volleyball player and I'm blessed for all the opportunities it has brought me including winning a state championship and playing beach in college.

Beach volleyball has helped me grow as a player by giving me a place where I feel happy and free every time I play. It reminds me to enjoy the game and stay in the moment. Playing has taught me to stay positive even when things do not go my way. It shows me how every challenge is just another chance to learn and get better. Beach has shown me how to push through obstacles and keep a good mindset no matter what.

State Champion, Beach Volleyball Pair of the Year
Embrace the good, bad, and everything in between. That is one of many things I've learned through playing beach volleyball. I've also learned that being a good teammate amplifies the way you are able to perform on the court because it builds the relationship with everyone around so you are playing for more than just yourself. Beach is a hard game but so rewarding!

As a player beach volleyball has helped me tremendously with ball control, eye work, and communication. Something I have learned is your attitude and mindset on how you approach the game because you are not just playing for yourself but for your partner and teammates.
Alyah Cadavid
Beach Volleyball State Champion, Division 1 Athlete
I love beach volleyball because it challenges you in every way! Since there's only two players on the court, you really have to develop every skill. Playing beach has helped me improve my ball control, court awareness, and mental toughness, and it's made me a much better indoor player too.

Beach volleyball has helped me as a player by opening my eyes and reading and reacting way quicker than I ever have. The beach has taught me that the game is bigger than myself. It teaches grit, perseverance, mental and physical toughness. It has helped me get to where I am today.
